A lot of charm and appeal

Originally built by Fanny and Johann Sanoner in 1913, Hotel Stetteneck celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2013: a century of traditional hospitality: The present owners, grand-children of the founders, have completely refurbished the hotel with loving attention to detail, keeping the elegance and the clear lines of the original Liberty-style building. Today Stetteneck is a charming hotel, unique in Val Gardena, a building with a chequered history, used in the past as an Austro-Hungarian imperial post office, as an officers' mess in the First World War and during the Second it hosted the valley's only underground air-raid shelter – all adding value to its subtle but irresistible fascination.
