Cross-country skiing

Val Gardena is perfect for cross-country skiing. The Alpe di Siusi, with its 80 km of trails of varying difficulty, Monte Pana above S. Cristina and the Vallunga near Selva offer unique and fantastic scenery.

The cross-country ski trails are double or quadruple-tracked and top-prepared. Whether skating or classic, beginner or professional, Val Gardena in South Tyrol offers the right trails for everyone.

 

 

Ortisei

The Val Gardena valley is home to the three municipalities of Ortisei, S. Cristina and Selva. Ortisei, with its almost 5,000 inhabitants, is the main town of the valley. With its cosy pedestrian area, several touristic sights and its ideal location in the heart of the Dolomites, the village is a popular holiday destination.

Directly from the village you can reach three of the most famous winter sports areas of the Dolomites by cable car:

  • The Alpe di Siusi, Europe's largest high alpine pasture, with long and wide ski slopes, 80 km of perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails and countless hiking opportunities.
  • The Seceda, with two 10 km long downhill runs to Ortisei and S. Cristina, direct access to the Sellronda, wide sunny ski slopes and cosy alpine huts.
  • The Rasciesa, with the Puez-Odle Nature Park, offering tobogganing fun for young and old, as well as many opportunities for snowshoe hiking and ski touring
